Storch Products Recognized with MMA’s 2023 Manufacturing Innovation Excellence Award

We are pleased to announce that Storch Products has been honored with the Michigan Manufacturers Association’s 2023 Manufacturing Innovation Excellence Award!

The award showcases a company that not only has brought an innovative concept to market but has developed and maintained a culture focused on engaging the workforce to bring new ideas to life, according to the MMA.

MMA’s leadership says that “Storch Products fosters a culture of innovation through visionary leadership, employee empowerment and a relentless pursuit of excellence.” Among its many other products and solutions, Storch was recognized for its innovative SuperMag Magnetic Sweeper, an extremely powerful yet environmentally friendly solution to clear metal debris off floors and roadways.

President and CEO Matthew Carr accepted the award during the MMA’s Excellence Awards ceremony, held November 9, 2023, at the Kellogg Center in Lansing.

“Storch Products recently has celebrated its 71st year in business in Livonia, Michigan,” he said as he accepted the award, noting that the fourth generation of the family was represented at the event. “It’s still family-owned by the original family. It’s been a blessing of mine to grow up in a career learning to weld and making a path all the way to becoming the president and CEO of a company 25 years later. It’s truly a blessing.”

He thanked the many members of the team, several of whom were present at the event as well.

“So many people work so hard and so tirelessly to get products out the door,” he said. “We’re known for our magnet materials. We’ve done about 300 million pieces in the last 70 years and about 7,000 conveyors that are in manufacturing facilities, specifically moving chips out of machining centers and moving ferrous parts.”

He also talked about the benefits of the SuperMag, which helps reduce flat tires, expedites pothole filling and roadside maintenance and reduces downtime.

“It’s my hope and vision for the company that we continue to take that to every surface that we live on, including water,” he says. “We hope to be back next year with another product to introduce.”
